Graham brings 30 plus years of experience as a qualified carpenter and industry educator. Prior to joining Fosters in 2015, Graham was a senior training advisor for the BCITO, and as part of this he is passionate about working with keen young people, helping and developing their skills in order for them to meet their full potential in the construction industry.
Graham’s core function is to offer support and training to the apprentice carpenters for Fosters.
Graham is the driving force for the apprentice and cadetship programs at Fosters and takes great pride in seeing young people continue to achieve their professional goals.
Fosters is committed to growing the construction industry through a strong commitment to the apprenticeship scheme. Over the years we have had a number of excellent apprentices, a number who have stayed with Fosters and are now senior site managers, project managers and even shareholders.
One of the most rewarding parts of the job for the senior management team is seeing people grow within Fosters. We are always on the lookout for future leaders from the day they start their apprenticeships, or as a junior QS, through their journey with us.
We have a large number of apprentices currently, and the standard is very high.
Fosters has partnered with Smart Waikato to create the Fosters Cadetship Programme. SmartWaikato has developed excellent programmes and relationships with secondary schools which enable Fosters to add great value and to target potential candidates for the cadetship programme. For us, supporting Smart Waikato is about supporting our community, helping young people into careers and developing the next generation for the construction sector.
The Fosters Cadetship Programme runs from July to November each year. Keep an eye out for information on how you can join the programme.
