Community and sponsorship

Community is at the heart of Fosters’ purpose.

In 2020, the Fosters Group Trust was established, creating a philanthropic side to the business to deliver on our promise of ‘Great communities through strong foundations’.

The Foster Group Trust owns 15% of the Foster Group and was established to enable Fosters to actively make a difference by giving back to our community. Through the Trust we have created the following initiatives:

Committed to Community 2022

Foster 500

As a collective of over 200 people, we have a wide-reaching network. Recognising that our people each operate in their own community, every year we give every employee the opportunity to sponsor an initiative within their community up to $500.

Through the Foster500, we have been able to contribute to numerous community initiatives and help many people.

PLEASE NOTE: organisations cannot apply to Fosters for Foster500 support, it is up to each individual Fosters employee as to how they give away their $500.

Our local commercial sponsorships

Supporting business leadership and best business practice in the Waikato, Fosters sponsor the Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Supporting community through sport, Fosters have been behind the Chiefs since 2019 and alongside Northern Districts Cricket every summer since 2016.

People welfare

On a case-by-case basis, the Foster Group Trust looks after our team above and beyond a normal employment relationship, including hardship loans and the payment of medical expenses.
