A property valuer with 20+ years’ experience within corporate real estate and development in the UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Rhys was Managing Director of CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions business in the Pacific and South East Asia prior to joining Fosters in 2018.
With the ability to realise a vision that contributes to the wider community for years to come and inspired by seeing a business thrive when matched to a great space, Rhys drives our property development arm. He has successfully shaped a significant business with a strong team, offering a multitude of investment and lease opportunities in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Property and Commerce conjoint. He has indepth knowledge of the industry from growing up around developments and has worked on multiple projects around the country.
Andrew has a passion for property and takes great pride in delivering industry leading projects for clients and the community.

Leonard Gardner

Director
A major shareholder and director of Fosters, Leonard joined Fosters in 2003 as a Chartered Accountant. In 2004 he was appointed to the role of commercial manager and two years later became a director and shareholder at Fosters.
Leonard’s strengths lie in his ability to integrate the worlds of business and community. A great leader and communicator, he is adept at bringing stakeholders together to achieve optimal outcomes.
Community, family, and people are his passions, and Leonard brings a personal touch to all those he collaborates with.

Megan is Foster’s legal advisor and specialises in commercial developments, leasing and subdivisions.
Originally from the UK, she has come from a diverse legal background having first practised in general law, acting for a variety of private clients ranging from individuals and businesses to trusts, incorporated societies and charities, before moving in-house and specialising in commercial and property law.
Being part of an innovative team that is changing the status-quo and delivering high quality, sustainable spaces to our community is something she is truly passionate about.

Rebecca Hopson
Finance Lead
With 10 years of financial experience in the construction industry, Rebecca leads the finance function within the Foster Develop team. Working closely with the Foster Develop team, Rebecca plays a pivotal role in planning, monitoring and managing financial commitments and outcomes for Fosters’ property development projects. She ensures that our team, board, investors, and external joint venture partners have access to the most up-to-date project performance information.

With 20+ years’ experience in marketing across multiple industries, Mary supports us in the development and execution of strategic branding and marketing for our key property development projects. She also manages marketing for the Foster Group.

Michael Crawford

Michael currently chairs the Foster Develop board, bringing with him 40 plus years accounting experience in a wide range of industries, together with a wide range of contacts in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
He's worked with Fosters since the 1980’s; a manager and partner with Deloitte at the time, he was Fosters' external accountant. He’s also a former Chair of the Foster Group board.
Michael has had extensive involvement with multiple local organisations, including Waikato Rugby, the Chiefs and stadium fundraising.

Guy has over 30 years’ experience in roles spanning the civil engineering, building construction, forestry, project management and property development sectors.
Following 15 years at McConnell Property, he is now Senior Construction Manager at a specialist geo engineering construction company, Geostabilization NZ.

Renae Smart has over 20 years of global experience in technology, change management and business improvement. Her strategic outlook and drive for continuous improvement, excellent customer outcomes, and business success have seen her consistently achieve throughout her career.
Before co-founding Civtec, she worked across multiple industries in software consulting, programme management, and supply chain enhancement. Known for her personable approach, Renae excels in building high-performing teams and long-term client partnerships. She is also a Chartered Director, holding governance positions in the infrastructure and healthcare sectors.

Ken has over 40 years’ experience in banking and finance, with a particular interest in property investment and building construction.
For the last decade, Ken has operated his own consultancy business, while holding several independent directorships across varied industries, including two large property investment groups. He's also involved in the carbon forestry sector.
