Frank Risk Management

Overview

Frank Risk Management was aiming to create a unique and safe workplace with plenty of room for their growing team.

Consolidating three tenancies into one, this project involved demolishing much of the internal area, effectively stripping it back to the bare bones.

Seismic strengthening work was done to make the building compliant with current standards.

In a CBD location, challenges included limited access, noise sensitive workplaces nearby and an existing structure that proved challenging to work with.

Both Fosters and Frank Risk Management are proud of the outcome – it’s a great space, combining original and modern features.

About the project

630 Victoria Street, once built for Newton King stock and station agents, has been repurposed and retrofitted for Frank Risk Management. Director Jaden Hatwell says they chose Fosters for the job based on their reputation in the region firstly, but also because Fosters promised delivery on a very tight timeline.

The project ran from November 2021 through to June 2022.

Client testimonial

“Our main objective was to create an awesome space for Frank Risk Management to call home, a space where our team would really enjoy coming to work” says Jaden.

“At a time when materials were hard to get and working to a set deadline for the business to move in, we also needed to work with a good team to make it happen.

“Fosters made it happen. They got involved in the design process with Edwards White, securing materials straight away. The process was smooth and easy; we were in constant communication with the site managers and any changes we made were easily accommodated.”

Initially divided into three tenancies, the area is now one big open and modern space. A third of the original wooden floor was repurposed into a kitchen island unit, bookshelves, door handles and other fittings. “Recycling the wood was not only a nice touch, but it also feels good to know we have been able to reuse the native timber” notes Jaden.

And would Jaden use Fosters again? “Absolutely” is his response. “Timeliness, cost being as expected, and great communications are all the reasons I would use Fosters again.

“We had a vision for what the new office would look like; what we have is even better. Coming back from a time when a lot of people worked from home, we have created a space that everyone appreciates and wants to work in. The result is exactly what we were hoping for.”
