Overview
Fosters was contracted to construct a new two-level office block within an existing warehouse. The construction timeframe was 66 days.
About the project
Mainly timber-framed, with some minor steel elements, the project included aluminium joinery, glazing, internal services, stairs, minor reworks of existing balcony and finishes. In addition, there was a fire system upgrade and emergency lighting installed throughout.
Keeping the client informed was key in this project; they placed high value on communication and the collaborative nature that Fosters brought to the project.
The project was delivered on time and on budget.

Client testimonial
Dean and Brenda Kebbell needed an existing commercial property upgraded to meet the needs of an incoming tenant, with requirements for extra office space and a conference room.
Needing the job done quickly with compliance and a good health and safety record, they chose Foster Construction BOP for the job. Following this experience, Dean said that Fosters would be their first choice in future.
Based in Hamilton, with an extensive property portfolio, the Kebbell’s have done a few construction projects, but this one was out of their normal scope.
“We needed this job done quickly, and there were no existing building plans” explained Dean.
“Having worked with Fosters before, I knew them to be honest, capable, upfront and professional.”
Dean got Fosters involved early in the design process, undertaking some exploratory work on the foundations before proceeding with the main project. He notes that the team focused on buildability, and carried out modifications to ensure the foundations could cope with the extra load.
The best thing about this project, from Dean’s perspective, was the communication from the project team - being Hamilton-based, he wasn’t on site often.
“Project management was excellent, Fosters document everything. We received weekly updates with detailed photos of work in progress, ensuring we knew precisely what was happening on site throughout the project,” said Dean.
“They were fussier than I was on the finish” he adds, “and they stuck to a schedule that I thought would be impossible. When materials were delayed, they simply got more people in and met the deadline.
“We would certainly work with Fosters again; they are top of our list.”
