Union Square Proves Its Pull as Construction Begins on Fourth Office Building

Foster Develop has announced commencement of construction of Building B at Union Square. This marks the fourth multi-storey office, built by Fosters, in the prime grade CBD office precinct since 2020.

Following commitment from AECOM and Tetra Pak to the new building, we are confident our aspirational vision for Union Square - an experiential workplace - has proven a real drawcard for local and international businesses.

“Having another two international brands relocate here proves that Union Square continues to be the destination of choice for business in the Hamilton CBD” said CEO Foster Develop Rhys Harvey.

“Already home to several iconic local and large global brands, Union Square is coming to life as ‘the’ place for business, collaboration, and community. It’s the outcome we always envisioned.”

AECOM New Zealand Managing Director Craig Davidson said “AECOM has been part of Hamilton’s growth over the past 40 years, from Wairere Drive and Victoria on the River to the much-loved Rototuna Library.

“Union Square marks an exciting new chapter for us, in a vibrant and promising precinct. We look forward to moving in next year and continuing to support the Hamilton community.”

Boris Munster, Managing Director of Tetra Pak, said they were similarly pleased to be joining the dynamic community of forward-thinking businesses.

“Union Square precinct offers a purpose-built environment that reflects Tetra Pak’s commitment to workplace experience, employee well-being, technology, innovation and sustainability. We look forward to welcoming our people, customers, and partners to our new home,” said Munster.

Featuring 2,280 sqm of office accommodation over three floors – with frontage to Alexandra Street and the Union Square boulevard, Building B is well placed for profile.

There’s only another 220 sqm vacant in the building.

“The remaining space would be ideal for small to medium size professional services firms seeking to enhance their brand, as well as their staff and client experience” Rhys said.

With the site on Alexandra Street already cleared and primed by Foster Construction, commencement of Building B was marked with a sod turning ceremony and site blessing on July 22.

Our intention is for Building B to open for business in Q3 2026.
