Overview
The Gordon Spratt Sporting Facility is a purpose-built community hub, designed to support local sport and recreational activity at Gordon Spratt Reserve in Papamoa.
Located on the edge of Alice Johnston Oval, the facility includes a central club room for gatherings and events, private changing rooms for home and away teams, dedicated spaces for officials, integrated ablutions, and secure storage facilities for the Papamoa Cricket Club. Carparking for 70+ vehicles was also part of the project.

About the project
Fosters was engaged to deliver the project and worked closely with Tauranga City Council to ensure the facility met community needs.
Challenges during construction included managing evolving client requirements and coordinating consultant and council inspections to keep the programme on track.
Fosters maintained clear, proactive communication through regular site meetings and transparent reporting. Requests for Information (RFIs) and variation works were actioned quickly; Fosters’ “Make it Happen” approach and ability to adapt to project complexities ensured the build progressed smoothly.
We're proud to have delivered a high-quality outcome, also meeting the 8-month programme and allocated budget.
The Gordon Spratt facility now stands as a valued asset for the Papamoa community and a successful example of collaborative delivery.
