Vision:
Sentinel House was originally constructed in the 1970’s to the design of Aubery de Lisle, a prominent Hamilton Architect of the time. Multiple renovations over the years, as well as a significant lack of maintenance, had left the building in a deteriorated state – D-grade office space at best.
Working with Chow:Hill Architects, Fosters developed a vision for the building to restore the exterior to a modern interpretation of the original design, lifting it to excellent B-grade office space.  This included ensuring the building met all current regulations, maximising the prominence on Victoria St and lifting the NBS level to an economically viable level.
Outcome:
Refurbishment included an upgrade of the building canopy, lobby and provision of shared meeting rooms on the ground floor. End of trip facilities were added for the convenience of all tenants. The target date for completion of works was January 2019, enabling the first tenant to be operation for the New Year.
One of the last fitouts completed was for Sentinel Café on the ground floor, which completed the building experience. The Café offering included management of the shared meeting room, which both tenants and the wider community could book online.
