The project was a Design and Build won through the tender process. The total foot print of the building was 8,840m2 with the anchor tenant being Kmart taking 5,484m2. The balance of the retail space was divided into 2 bulk retail outlets and eight complimentary retail spaces.
Fosters worked closely with Pukeroa Property to manage the design process to meet the Kmart brief and specific lease requirements. The civil works were carried out by a nominated contractor who also worked closely with the project team.
The contract had sectional completion dates to allow for Kmart to undertake fit-outs and be up and running as soon as possible. The extremely wet weather through winter certainly presented its challenges, however key local sub trades worked long hours to make sure the programme completion dates were maintained.
