Vision:
With a growing population and changing demographic in the Omokoroa area, Foster Develop identified the need for retail hub to services within the community.
After consultation with the community, it was clear that a scheme designed to provide spaces where the local community and visitors could congregate was important.
Outcome:
The recently completed commercial development features a mix of retail, medical, and hospitality spaces and was awarded a silver in the 2024 NZ Commercial Project Awards.
The masterplan for this steeply sloped site resulted in a varied development centered around a village green linked to a community space, with undercroft parking, easy pedestrian flow, and a mix of shared and delineated access routes.
The buildings within the development offering 22 retail outlets and 5 fully fitted office spaces, has created a vibrant new community space that was lacking in Omokoroa.
