Overview
Walk-up apartment style units and duplex units to accommodate 10 families.
This housing project provided modern homes for 10 families. The development included two distinct housing types: six single-bedroom apartments in a walk-up-style building, and four two-bedroom duplex (terrace) units designed for family living.
About the project
The two ground-floor walk-up apartments were built to Full Universal Design (FUD) standards, ensuring accessibility for those with mobility needs.
While the construction project was inherently straightforward, design deficiencies introduced significant challenges to both the schedule and budget. The experienced team at Fosters responded with pragmatic solutions and facilitated effective collaboration among stakeholders to proactively manage risks and minimise delays.
Meeting Kāinga Ora’s rigorous quality requirements, the result was a well-executed, community-focused housing development with a standout architectural feature: a large glazed frontage to the walk-up lobby, framed by striking aluminium fins—offering a modern street presence.
